Crazy to shop and eat

Buy what you want & Eat what you want

I don't want to introduce any large shopping mall or five stars restaurants to you guys.
I want to let you buy and eat some special .
Talk about EAT first. Do you know what is " Yum Cha" it's one of the culture of our life style.
Hong Kong people always goes to " Yum Cha", especially on Saturday and Sunday. Mostly people don't need to work on Saturday and Sunday. So they will go out with their family people to enjoy the "Dim Sum" . Like " Shrimp Dumpling", "Siu-Mai", "Rice Roll", "Barbecue Pork Bun", "Sweet Custard Bun" etc.. Do you want to eat all of food right now?
But i will keep going to show you more and more special food to you! It's very traditional and not easy to find although i ate these food from child until now, but i still lovely to eat.The name of the food also very unique. If you want to eat you have to learn how to pronounce their name . "Gai-Daan-Jai" is make by egg and mix another ingredients. However it also need to use the unique equipment to make it.

"Put Chai Ko" is one of my favorite food, you can see that have different colour and have some red beans inside. But i like the no beans one. I want to describe how tasty of "Put Chai Ko", but it really can't use any words to describe. If you come to Hong Kong you must try it!

Still have many belongs Hong Kong culture food i can't introduce all of these. But i will show the picture to let you know it.
And let you admiring me i can take this food !
Egg Tart    Glutinous rice balls Waffle  Smelly bean curd

As we know Hong Kong tax charge is lower than another countries, so that there have many tourists will come to crazy shopping. But i don't want to introduce any famous brand name to you.
Because i want to let you know more our Hong Kong culture.
"Mongkok" is a very busy area in Hong Kong and you always sees a huge crowds of people there everyday. There have a famous street name " Tung Choi Street", you also can called " Ladies Street". There have many different kind of things to buy. You can bargain with the shopkeeper.

Although they may not can speak English very well, but you can use the body language to communicate with them. Also i think you can find some interesting thing here to buy.
Did you here that before this thing called " Mahjong". This is a game have a long long history, if you want to play this game you have to find three more friends play with you. I know that you can play the game in the internet. But i still believe that play the real one is more exciter than the game in internet. If you play with the elderly people it can help them to improve the condition of  Alzheimer's disease.
So i suggest you can buy one to back to your home.

Furthermore, Mongkok is a very large area. Also have many special street like " Gold Fish Street" , i know that you can't but any gold fish or turtle go back. But i think it's worth to walk around to feel the special culture of Hong Kong.

Finally, maybe you will think i talk about this may not relative my title " Buy what you want" , but my view is i want to show you more about the Hong Kong culture. May be you discovered i mention " Hong Kong culture" many times. Because i really think that Hong Kong is a very unique city, although there is a very tiny city. But there have a very long history and have a large transition. So i want you can feel and experience it.
And imprint in you memory.

  2. I also like Put Chai Ko without the red beans. Where can I get those ? I just take the beans out manually which is a big waste.

Thanks for sharing Goldfish Street, too. I just saw this street earlier this year and I intend to go for a walk there again. Really fascinating slice of Mongkok !
